Saw a little blog on The Range this morning, regarding our esteemed state legislature getting together to dick around and get paid for doing nothing. When I heard that Jan Brewer was going to ask the legislature to extend unemployment benefits, I was pleasantly surprised. This is a normally Democratic position to take, so it was mostly out of left field (although, she has proven herself to be slightly erratic in her gubernatorial decision-making).
But according to the Tweekly, Brewer didn't bother to prep for the session, so the legislature tossed the ol' football around or something before calling it a day and collecting their per diem. I don't think that counts as actually trying to help the unemployed, Jan. Try again.
